How are dancers chosen for EDC?

Future Stars are chosen by teacher recommendation or by expressing interest. Auditions are held for all Performance and Competitive Teams. An application and at least one year of dance experience is required for all.

What is the weekly time commitment?

Required classes will vary depending upon the team your dancer makes. Future Stars and Performance Division dancers will be required to take 2-3 hours of technique classes in ballet, jazz, contemporary, tap, hip hop, or acro. Competitive dancers will be required to take 4-8 hours of technique classes per week. All dancers will have rehearsals outside of their scheduled class times both in the summer and during the regular dance season.

How long is the performance/competition season?

All divisions of EDC will kick off their season mid-June. Future Stars and Performance Division will complete their season with our Summer Concert in June. Competitive Division dancers will continue through Nationals 2023.

What expenses are there?

Like time commitment, cost varies for each division. For a more detailed look at financial obligations, email info@elitedanceil.com.

What are the benefits of joining EDC?

EDC is a wonderful way to continue doing something you love and to make lifelong friends. You will enhance your technique and performance skills, gain self-confidence and self-awareness, and learn what it means to be a teammate. There will be performance opportunities unlike any other and you will serve as a role model for the entire Elite Dance Academy family!
